SoNNeT Echo III Desktop Thunderbolt 3 to PCIe Expansion System

The Echo III Desktop is a professional Thunderbolt 3 to PCIe card expansion system that enables you to connect three (up to) full-length (12.28 inches long) PCIe cards at the same time, via a single cable. Plugged into one of your computer's Thunderbolt 3 ports, the Echo III Desktop system allows you to connect professional PCIe cards (three full-height, single-width cards, or one double-width card plus one single-width card).

Sonnet's Echo III Desktop is backward compatible with Macs featuring Thunderbolt 2 ports when used with the bi-directional Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter and a Thunderbolt cable (both sold separately). It is compatible with Mac (Intel) computers with Thunderbolt 3 ports, Mac (M1) computers with PCIe cards that have M1 compatible drivers, and Macs with a Thunderbolt 2 or Thunderbolt port when used with the required adapter and cable. The Echo III Desktop also supports PCs with Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 ports, running Windows 10 (Windows 11 does not currently support multiple-slot Thunderbolt expansion systems).

The Echo III Desktop features two Thunderbolt 3 ports - one for connecting to the computer and a second for daisy-chaining up to five additional Thunderbolt peripheral devices. It also supports 10Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 devices connected to the second port. The system can support connecting up to two 4K displays at 60Hz or one 5K display at 60Hz, and provides 15W of power to bus-powered connected devices.

Designed for creative professionals, the Echo III Desktop offers three PCIe 3.0 slots - one x16 and two x8 - which can accommodate a variety of full-length, single-width or double-width PCIe cards. It includes a 400W power supply with a 75W auxiliary power connector to support power-hungry cards, such as the Avid Pro Tools | HDX. The system is Avid Pro Tools qualified, instantly optimized to support up to three Pro Tools | HDX PCIe cards with the flip of a switch, without requiring any additional parts.

Featuring dual Noctua fans, the Echo III Desktop is engineered for ultra-quiet operation (17.1dBA), making it suitable for noise-sensitive environments. It powers on and off automatically with the connected computer, saving energy over the long run. Sonnet also provides a Thunderbolt 3 cable and ThunderLok 3 connector retainer clip with the system at no extra charge.
