Through its x8 PCIe 3.0 slot, this compact expansion system can accommodate a wide range of low-profile PCIe cards, including high-speed networking, storage controllers, video capture and processing, and RAID controllers.

Featuring a 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 interface, the Echo Express SEL delivers 2750 MB/s of PCIe bandwidth, doubling the performance of Thunderbolt 2. It includes two Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports, with one reserved for the connection to the computer and the second port supporting the daisy-chaining of up to five additional Thunderbolt devices, the attachment of a single USB peripheral, or the connection of up to two 4K displays or one 5K display.
